Help-Seeking Behaviour of University Students During Covid-19 Pandemic: Psychological Openness, Indifference to Stigma, Help-Seeking Propensity

Since the pandemic outbreak, Malaysian government has implemented Movement Control Order (MCO) in March 2020 to constrict civilian's movements an effort contain spread of Corona Virus. Under effect MCO, individuals who were not working within essential services encouraged remain stationary their place residence. Currently, multiple states Malaysia are still under Conditional (CMCO) effect. Therefore, most post-secondary students have regained complete freedom move freely and isolated respective campuses. This group been separated from friends family for several months a stretch, reducing much-needed psychological support. During these trying times, online help-seeking becomes outlet people cope with daily struggles issues. Although Covid-19 counselling hotline was introduced outreach general populace, rates remained low. study addresses gap mentioned above by assessing relationships between intention, openness, indifferent stigma, propensity. A correlational survey conducted across Malaysia. The participants university aged 18 29 recruited using purposive sampling method. total 303 respondents participated this survey. 62.7% females (n = 190), while remaining 37.3% males 113). Surprisingly, findings revealed that intention negatively correlated openness stigma (perceived public self-stigma).
